For most of this life, there has been little reasoned thought. The majority of choices have revolved around desire, greed, and lust. There was little thought about the future or its consequences.
Conclusion
Stoicism has brought to light the virtues of reasoned choice. The ability to separate compulsive behavior from rational thought provides comfort. Looking forward, there is now a goal to avoid compulsions and steer towards thoughtfulness.
